Franklin Patriot Day |
On September 15th Quint 10, Rescue 10 and Brush 10 made the trip to Franklin for the Patriots Day Parade with 6 members. This year’s parade was dedicated to our own J.P Memory II who passed at this event last year while leading a vehicle rescue demonstration, as well as State Police, Trooper Hill who was struck by a motorist in South Hampton County two weeks after the event. Carrollton members showed their department pride at the event and came away with Best Appearing Ladder (Quint 10), Best Appearing Rescue (Rescue 10) and 2nd Place Brush Truck (Brush 10) as well as Best Overall Department, and 1st Place in the Bucket Brigade Competition with a time of 55 seconds. Station 10 members also participated with Smithfield VFD (Sta. 50) members in a vehicle rescue demonstration. Special thanks to Lt. Green and Capt. Grizzard and all of the members of the Franklin Fire Dept. for all their hard work put into making this years parade a success. |
