Diesel Fuel Spill

In front of Station 10

On September 27th at 1300hrs a large box truck carrying water treatment chemicals came to a stop in the turning lane in front of Station 10 on Carrollton Blvd.  A fuel line had been ripped out of one of the saddle tanks on the vehicle and the contents of the tanks were flowing freely into the road way.  The members at the station responded immediately with Rescue 10.  The spill was contained and the fuel line shut off before any major environmental damage was done.  VDOT was called to lay down absorbent on the trail of fuel the truck had left and to clean up the contained fuel.  103 (A.C. Brower) had command.
