James River Bridge Accident

On September 16th at 0137 hours Stations 10 & 60 were dispatched to a 10-50 on the James River Bridge involving multiple vehicles including a tractor trailer and a person in the water. R-10A responded with 4 techs and 1 FF (103 A.C. Brower on board). S-10A was tied up on a chest pain call.  R-10A arrived at 0146 to find 3 vehicles with heavy damage and a confirmation that the driver of one of the vehicles had jumped off the bridge. R-10 was assisted by Newport News Fire Department E-3, EMS-1 & M -3 with the initial size up and pt stabilization. A total of 5 patients were immobilized and treated. IOW M -61 & 62 transported 4 pts with the last being transported by M -3. NNFD & NNPD had boats in the water searching for the jumper. This call ended a busy week for CVFD which included 3 major 10-50s, two involving extrications.
