
Carrollton Volunteer Recognized By Riverside Healthcare System
Crews from Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department and Isle of Wight Emergency services were recognized today for their response on December 11th, 2020 to a 56-year old patient experiencing chest pains. The call came in around 5:00pm and Squad 10 quickly marked in route along with Isle of Wight Emergency Services crews. Upon arrival they were able to quickly identify the patient was suffering from a heart attack and ensure rapid notification, treatment and transport. The quick response was cited Riverside when presenting the Heart Saver award to Chief Tim Nunez (CVFD) and Chief Pat Humphries (IOWES) on behalf of both departments. The patient was treated and discharged from Riverside just two days later due to the rapid and professional response.
Key members of the response team were recognized individually and included: Captain Kaven Melton (CVFD), Lieutenant Chris Smith (IOWES), Delaney Townsend (IOWES), and Levario Franklin (IOWES). Additional supporting crew members included: Matthew Willbanks, Sean Gay, and Steve Wright; all crewmembers from Squad 10.
