Volunteers from Carrollton VFD were able to train alongside neighboring Smithfield VFD in a variety of skills necessary to respond to vehicle accidents, hosted by SVFD. Throughout the morning crews worked alongside one another to enhance critical life safety skills. Participants were able to take part in multiple hands on scenarios reinforcing the basic and advanced techniques necessary to remove an entrapped patient from a damaged vehicle.

In addition to the valuable skills learned, joint training’s such as these provide an invaluable opportunity for neighboring departments to work and learn alongside one another.

Since January of this year, Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department responded to 75 motor vehicle accidents.
