Earlier this morning, Tanker 10 was called mutual aid to support firefighting operations on Morgarts Beach Road, Smithfield.

Smithfield and Rushmere Volunteer Fire Departments called for Tanker 10 to assist with water supply and water shuttle operations during a large barn fire. Upon arrival, T-10 established water supply to Smithfield’s Engine 53 and assisted in setting up shuttle operations from a nearby lake. Rushmere’s Tanker and Engine were utilized to shuttle water from the lake to Tanker 10 ensuring a steady flow of water for operations.

Unfortunately the barn and its contents were a total loss. There were no injuries or damage to any additional structures reported.
