
Working Smoke Detectors Alert Occupants
Around 9:15 last night, Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a structure fire in the Jones Creek Subdivision. The first Carrollton units arrived on-scene and reported smoke showing from the front and rear of the home. Engine 10 crews quickly attacked the fire containing it to one side of the building. Crews from Carrollton and Smithfield remained on-scene until 11:43pm working on salvage and overhaul operations.
Units on scene included 102 (DC Brower Incident Command), 103 (AC Hickman Incident Safety) 502 (DC Gray Fire Attack), 601 (Chief Carroll Rehab),602 (DC Owens Rehab), Engine10, Ladder 10, Tanker 10, Utility 10, Medic 10, Engine 51, Engine 52, Truck 50 and Rehab 60.
Working smoke detectors alerted the residence and they were able to escape without injury. Sadly the home received extensive interior damage and the family lost a pet.
