On the evening on October 19th, 2023, Carrollton VFD responded to the James River Bridge to find two vehicles involved. Units on scene involved Carrollton VFD Ladder 10, Medics 10 and 11, as well as mutual aid assistance from Newport News Fire Department. The northbound direction of the James River Bridge was closed while investigation was underway by Virginia State Police.
