Application Process

Members complete application and present it at a regularly scheduled business meeting on the last Thursday of the month, unless otherwise posted due to holidays. Perspective members must be present to submit their application. Applications will be read and accepted during the meeting. Perspective members will be interviewed by the Board following the meeting.

Application Requirements

  • Must pass a Criminal History Background Check
  • Must submit with application DMV driving record
  • Must be fingerprinted by Sheriff Department Isle of Wight (or another Law Enforcement Office) and submit verification with application.
  • Have a High School Diploma or G.E.D. (Unless Junior or explorer member)
  • Junior members must be at least 16 years old.
  • Must abide by CVFD bylaws and Standard Operating Procedures and Member Handbook
